To push the boundaries of our understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms controlling development of the cardiovascular system and the initiation and progression of cardiovascular disease.

The Delgado-Olguin lab combines genetic manipulation with phenotyping, genome-wide and molecular biology approaches to uncover the function of epigenetic regulators of gene expression in the development of cardiovascular cell lineages. We apply our new knowledge about the control of developmental processes to investigate fundamental aspects of cardiovascular disease.
