Meghan Ford, BA (Hons)

Meghan completed her honours undergraduate degree in Psychology at York University, Toronto. In the NeuroOutcomes lab, Meghan coordinates neurodevelopmental research studies, including Dr. William’s I-InTERACT-North and Parent Experience studies. Her current research and clinical interests are focused on investigating treatment interventions designed to increase the health and quality of life of at-risk children, as well as exploring the connection between early brain development and neuropsychological functioning in children.

Beryl Chung, PhD

Dr. Beryl Chung completed her BScH in Biology and Psychology at Queen’s University and her PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Neuroscience at the University of Guelph. In the NeuroOutcomes lab, she coordinates neurodevelopmental research studies, including Dr. William’s I-InTERACT-North studies. Her passion is to improve the health of children through conducting research focused on early brain development and cognitive outcomes, the effects of early brain injury, and sex differences in neuropathology. She is committed to ongoing learning and making science accessible to both the inquisitive child and adult.

Samantha Roberts, MA

Samantha completed her honours undergraduate degree in Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour at McMaster University and her master’s degree in Clinical Developmental Psychology at York University. She is currently in her PhD at York University in Clinical Developmental Psychology (Neuropsychology stream). Samantha’s research focus is on neural correlates in association with neuropsychological outcomes in children with congenital heart disease and children born preterm. Further, she examines cognition and psychosocial outcomes in paediatric neurodevelopmental conditions, and mild and traumatic brain injury.

Brittany Burek, MA

Brittany is a PhD student in the School and Clinical Child Psychology program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at The University of Toronto. Her research and clinical interests include exploring ways to leverage virtual media to support the mental health and wellbeing of children, youth and families. She also investigates online learning for neurodiverse students in order to promote accessible education.

Marie Hooper, MA

Marie is a PhD Candidate in the Clinical-Developmental Psychology program at York University. Marie’s doctoral research focuses on the impact of stress in families (particularly siblings) with children with complex neuropsychological, medical needs. Marie has held various positions in a wide range of clinical settings including The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Holland Bloorview Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and various school boards in the GTA. Marie is a senior therapist in the NeuroOutcomes lab on the Surviving and Thriving and Stepping up to COVID-19 studies.

Jala Rizeq, PhD

Jala Rizeq is a Clinical Research Fellow in the Neurosciences and Mental Health Program in the Department of Psychiatry at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She completed her PhD in Clinical Developmental Psychology at York University in 2020. Her research focuses on children and youth’s mental health, with a particular interest in delineating pathways from early stress to later emerging mental health difficulties. In terms of clinical work, she has provided evidence-based psychological services to children and youth with externalizing and internalizing difficulties and histories of trauma and their parents both within assessment and intervention settings at paediatric and mental health hospitals and university-based clinic.

Jordana Waxman, PhD

Dr. Jordana Waxman provides comprehensive assessments and evidence-based therapies to children, adolescents, and their families dealing with challenges related to anxiety, depression, learning and attention difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, chronic health conditions, behavioural and social challenges, as well as parenting issues. Her therapeutic style is warm and collaborative, and her creative and playful approach with young clients will help them feel comfortable and enjoy their experience.

Dr. Waxman received her PhD in Clinical Developmental Psychology and a specialized graduate diploma in Health Psychology at York University. She has developed expertise while being trained and working at a number of children’s mental health agencies including The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Alberta Children’s Hospital, as well as private practice settings. Dr. Waxman is currently a Pediatric Health Psychology Fellow at SickKids.

Christianne Laliberte Durish, PhD

Dr. Durish is a Pediatric Neuropsychology Clinical Postdoctoral Fellow at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She completed her bachelor of arts in Psychology at the University of Ottawa, and her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at the University of Calgary. Her clinical work is focused on neuropsychological assessment of children and adolescents with various neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, epilepsy, brain tumour, brain injury), as well as psychotherapeutic intervention among children and adolescents with complex medical histories. Her research expertise is in traumatic brain injury in children and adolescents, with a particular focus on examining the roles of cognitive reserve and psychological resilience in recovery from concussion.

Bronwyn Lamond, MA, OCT

Bronwyn is a doctoral student in the School and Clinical Psychology program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at U of T. She completed her master’s in School and Clinical Child Psychology at OISE in 2018, and her master’s in Child Study in Education at OISE in 2013. Bronwyn is also an Ontario Certified Teacher. Bronwyn’s research focuses on the integration of assistive technology into classrooms as part of the Academic Intervention Lab at OISE.

Bronwyn has trained at the Toronto District School Board, the OISE Psychology Clinic, the Family Psychology Centre and at other private psychology clinics. Bronwyn has training in a number of evidenced-based treatments, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills, and play-based therapy. She is currently a therapist in the I-InTERACT-North program at the NeuroOutcomes lab at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). She provides therapy for children, teens, parents, and families experiencing a range of difficulties, using an integrative, collaborative approach. Bronwyn also provides psychological assessments for children and teens struggling with learning, attentional, and developmental challenges.

In addition to Bronwyn’s research and clinical work, she also hosts and produces the Accidental Intellectual podcast, loves to create and DIY, and spends time with her husband and two kitties, Marble and Mozzarella.
