About me
Why Science
I have always been fascinated by the human body and the way its systems coordinate to maintain everyday function. My curiosity about how different biological processes connect and influence one another led to a strong interest in science and medicine. I am particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying disease and how scientific research can contribute to advancements in healthcare. I also enjoy learning about biological processes within the environment and the complex relationships that exist across living systems.
What is your favourite part about working at the BTRC?
My favourite part about working at BTRC, is the ability to work in an environment where I am surrounded by educated and knowledgeable individuals. Also the fact that I know I am contributing to a greater cause and helping with breakthroughs in brain cancer research. I love how much I’m learning to have the opportunity to have access to resources that can further my knowledge in brain tumour research.
What advice do you have for anyone interested in a career in science?
My advice is to remain curious and continue asking questions about how and why things happen. My interest in science began with learning about diseases, why people become sick, and how research can help others. Science is always evolving, so being open to learning and exploring new ideas is important.
Hobbies and interests?
I love cooking and baking, especially trying new recipes and experimenting with different flavours. I also enjoy going on long walks, exploring the nature around me whenever I get the chance.
If a celebrity were to play you in a movie about your life, who would it be and why?
I would choose Abel Tesfaye because I admire the creativity and imagination behind his music, visuals, and overall artistic style. He has a unique ability to turn his ideas into meaningful art, which I find very inspiring.
