Cost-Effectiveness and Decision Modeling using R Workshop

Summary

The Decision Analysis in R for Technologies in Health (DARTH) workgroup is offering a workshop on cost-effectiveness and decision modeling using R from August 27 – 29, 2024 (10:00 AM – 3:00PM Eastern Time daily) as a hybrid, hands-on seminar. Instructors Petros Pechlivanoglou, Hawre Jalal and Fernando Alarid-Escudero will cover the principles of cost-effectiveness analysis and decision analytic modeling and will guide participants in implementing decision trees, Markov models, and microsimulation models and their implementations in R. The workshop will also cover deterministic and probabilistic sensitivity analysis in R.

Workshop details

Participants will be expected to have some experience with decision modeling and/or basic concepts of economic evaluation. A self-paced module introducing R concepts specifically for decision modeling will be provided as part of your workshop registration.

Workshop Preparation

August 23rd, 2024: Complete “Intro to R for Decision Modeling” modules on your own.
August 22nd, 2024: Intro to R office hours (11:00am – 1:00pm Eastern Time)

Workshop Details

  • Asynchronous preparation (1-2 hours)
  • Live interactive session (10:00am – 03:00pm Eastern Time in-person/zoom)
  • Asynchronous completion of homework assignments (1-2 hours)

Approximately 5 hours of lectures and assignments with approximately 4 hours of self-paced modules daily
