Children’s Stroke Research Program

The Children’s Stroke Research program is part of the Division of Neurology at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). The program performs collaborative research aimed at understanding, preventing, and improving outcomes in paediatric stroke.

Our program is committed to improving research into the etiology and treatment of paediatric stroke through the sharing and dissemination of information around the world. We believe that working collaboratively across the globe is the best way to advance care for paediatric stroke patients.

Our program has three major research initiatives:

International Paediatric Stroke Study

IPSS is the global data and imaging core for multi-disciplinary paediatric experts who perform international collaborative research in an effort to better understand, prevent, and improve outcomes in paediatric stroke.

Stroke Imaging Laboratory for Children

The SILC serves as the global centre for imaging research by outlining the causes, diagnosis and treatment of paediatric stroke

Children’s Stroke Program Clinical Registry

The registry captures clinical, imaging, genetic and neuropsychological data that gives researchers a holistic view of each paediatric stroke case, generating boundless opportunities for scientific productivity.
