The Acquifer HIVE is the Imaging Facility’s primary data server. It is a modular and scalable computing platform designed to store, process and analyze large datasets generated from Facility microscopes. This workflow provides three key advantages:
- By recording all microscopy data directly to the HIVE, there is no movement or duplication of data across computers.
- Data is accessible from anywhere within the Hospital via remote desktop access.
- The ability to leverage the HIVE’s computational resources for large-scale, complex data analysis using a variety of commercial and open-source software
