Postdoctoral Fellowships

Applications for Postdoctoral Fellows are accepted on an on-going basis from individuals interested in the protein structure and function. Applicants are encouraged to email the PI directly. A cover letter should include a description of relevant research training to date, a list of publications, a copy of undergraduate and graduate transcripts (or equivalent) and indicate the applicant’s long-term research interests and career goals. Candidates with a suitable background may be invited for an interview. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to apply for independent funding while in the lab. Additional information regarding the postdoctoral training program is available on the SickKids Research Training Centre website.

Graduate Students

Training opportunities for graduate students are available through the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Toronto. Potential students are welcome to contact the PI at any time but can only be accepted into the lab once they have been admitted to the department’s graduate program. More details regarding graduate admission can be found through the Biochemistry Department at the University of Toronto.

Undergraduate Students

The lab also has research opportunities for undergraduate students. University of Toronto students may work in the lab for credit as part of various Research Opportunity Programs. Anyone interested in these programs should contact the PI directly.

Please visit the Research Format Courses section of University of Toronto Biochemistry website for more details regarding the courses available.

In addition, summer students may participate in the SickKids Summer Research Program. This 12-week program provides opportunities for university students to conduct research in the laboratory and runs typically from May to August. The program includes weekly seminars presented by Hospital and Research Institute staff members and an Annual Summer Student Symposium. At the Symposium, students present the results of their summer projects in poster or oral presentations, for selected awards. Applications for the program are available mid-late December from the SickKids Summer Research Program website.
