Current Project:  Her current project focuses on understanding the role septins play in creating diffusion barriers that compartmentalize membranes.

Previously:  Her previous work was in biophysical studies of metalloproteins.

Education:  She completed her B.Sc. in Biological Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Toronto.

Activities:  A current non-science project of Jess’ is jam making.  This year’s hits include grapefruit marmalade and cinnamon rhubarb jam.
