Awards & merits
Our research team, in collaboration with a group of 11 dedicated youth advisors, was awarded first place in the competition for our video on “Youth Engagement in Research”. This initiative by the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) Institute of Human Development provided a unique opportunity for researchers, trainees and knowledge users to submit a short video (five minutes or less) that offers a clear evidence-based message to the general public that is intended to improve the health of children, youth and families.

Videos
The Healthy Youth Summit took place on July 7 and 8, 2023 in Toronto. Co-led by the CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health’s (IHDCYH) Youth Advisory Council (YAC), this summit brought together researchers and youth passionate about the state of the science of youth health and wellbeing, how to engage youth in health research, how to communicate research impact and more.
Administrative data collected in the health system is vital for understanding and improving Ontario’s Health System. ICES Ontario has produced a three part video series titled “More Than Numbers” that showcases the work of our scientists and staff using administrative data to answer important healthcare questions. Dr. Toulany and her peers present the use of administrative data on three topics impacting health.
