This project is a multi-site randomized controlled trial (RCT) examining the cost and health quality implications of real-time smartphone-mediated pain management support for adolescents with cancer.

The goal of this project is to build a ‘top 10’ list of research priorities that require immediate attention within the field of paediatric cancer in Canada. 

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the psychosocial health of children with cancer, survivors, and parents

The goal of this project is to describe the psychosocial, behavioural health, and support needs of youth with cancer, survivors of childhood cancer, and their parents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Building Mobile Health (mHealth) capacity to manage pain in young children with cancer: parent intervention co-design & a pilot randomized controlled trial

The goal of the project is to use a parent co-design approach to refine a usable real-time paediatric cancer pain management prototype app, PainCaRe (Pain Caregiver Resource), for caregivers of young children with cancer between the ages of 2-11 years.  

Family caregiver experiences of children receiving continuous blinatumomab infusion at home: a qualitative study

The goal of this project is to understand the experiences of parents caring for child with leukemia who received a blinatumomab infusion at home for 28 days and to identify what education and supports parents think clinicians could offer them to make the experience of a blinatumomab infusion happen as smoothly as possible.

Teens4Teens: a novel online peer support intervention for teens with cancer during COVID-19

The goal of this project is to learn about the potential effectiveness of the novel online Teens4Teens program at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), a peer support group to help decrease social isolation experienced by teens with cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how it might be augmented in the future.
