Joel Rubin – M.Sc. Student, 1997-2000
Joel Rubin arrived from Montreal with a B.Sc. from McGill University. For his M.Sc., he wrenched the HS3beta-globin transgene expression project from James’ hands (and took his bench too). He also contributed greatly to characterizing gene silencing induced by the eGFP reporter gene coding sequences.
Rubin was known for rabidly supporting the Montreal Canadiens and saying “Non?” when he meant yes.
Funded by an FCAR studentship.
