Dr. Alla Buzina – Research Associate, 2000-2008

Alla Buzina obtained her PhD in Moscow and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow in two immunology labs in Toronto. Buzina joined the Ellis lab to pursue links between DNA replication and gene expression. She has developed new tools for replication studies by performing Flp-mediated site-specific integration in MEL cells and developing a novel BND cellulose nascent strand DNA abundance assay that employs real-time PCR.

Her passions outside of the lab include tennis and watching films at the Toronto International Film Festival.
