Who is running this survey?
The AdoLescent Led Initiative for Exploring Sexual-health and screen-use (ALLIES) is a research group based at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) composed of enthusiastic youth leaders aiming to secure better sexual and reproductive health outcomes for their peers. ALLIES is working with TARGet Kids!, a Canadian research network that studies the health of children as they grow.
What is this survey about?
This survey asks questions about attitudes, knowledge, and experiences of screen and media use, relationships, and sexual activity.
How can I participate?
You must be a youth aged 13-18 years old who is currently registered as a TARGet Kids! participant. Your parent/guardian will have received an email about this survey. If you have questions about your eligibility, ask your healthcare provider or reach out to targetkids.study@sickkids.ca.
What am I being asked to do?
This survey has 9 sections and will take around 20 minutes to complete. Each section will start with explaining the topic and asking if you would like to answer questions about that topic. We hope that you read each question carefully and answer as honestly as possible. This is not a test, there are no “right” or “wrong” answers!
What will happen with my answers?
The results of the survey will be used to create better information and awareness of screen use and its impact on sexual health for youth.
Will it be private?
Yes! Your answers will only be seen by the research team and won’t be made publicly identifiable.
Do I have to fill out the survey?
No. You can decide to skip sections or questions you are not comfortable answering. You can stop at any time.
