{"id":12,"date":"2020-09-10T15:46:04","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T15:46:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/tabori\/?page_id=12"},"modified":"2025-12-23T14:15:33","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T14:15:33","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/tabori\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row css_animation=&#8221;fadeIn&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text css_animation=&#8221;none&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: left\">The Tabori Laboratory<\/h1>\n<p>The Tabori Laboratory is a highly translational group, fusing clinical expertise with ambitious laboratory and bioinformatics-based projects to drive discoveries in paediatric oncology.<\/p>\n<p>One of our key areas of focus is the paediatric cancer predisposition disorder known as <a href=\"https:\/\/replicationrepair.ca\/\">Replication Repair Deficiency (RRD)<\/a> for which we run a large, international consortium and biobank holding thousands of tissue samples. RRD is a rare, but devastating disorder whereby affected individuals develop multiple malignancies in childhood. Our research utilizes both animal and human-based models such as stem cells and organoids to investigate and better understand CMMRD, leading to advances in surveillance, diagnosis, management and treatment of affected individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Our lab also studies the mechanisms that control tumour progression and resistance to therapy. We focus on tumours that have low and high grade components such as <a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/tabori\/research\/plgg\/\">paediatric low grade gliomas (PLGG)<\/a> and neuroblastoma. Using these models we work to understand how tumours stop progressing, and expand our knowledge of the specific pathways that controls this unique behaviour.
