What’s your research background?
I have always been interested in translational research with the potential to impact the lives of patients . Before moving into cancer research, I investigated tissue engineering for novel therapeutic applications. In my current role, I have the opportunity to work with talented clinicians and scientists globally to advance pre-clinical research studies and clinical trials. I have already seen the impact of this research, and how it has changed the standard of care for those with hypermutant and RRD cancers. My current interest is in developing cancer vaccines and advancing first of its kind clinical trials in low-and-middle income countries.
Do you have any advice for someone interested in a career in research?
In my opinion, a career in science teaches you resilience. I think anyone interested in research should be prepared to fail many times before they succeed; but that’s what makes the success so sweet.
What are your interests outside of science?
I love to cook and keep active when I can. I have practiced hot yoga for over 7 years and love it (especially in the winter months). Living in the city there are so many events, restaurants, and outdoor activities to keep me busy, its hard to name them all.
What’s your favorite food?
Charcuterie!
Do you prefer coffee, tea, or none?
Coffee, Tea, Wine…. All work for me!
