What’s your background?
I was born and raised in Toronto, ON. Growing up I played hockey, took up competitive martials art and rowed for University of Ottawa. I studied Chemistry in both my undergraduate and graduate studies.
What research projects are you currently working on?
Currently, I am the project manager for the Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP) – Development of precision medicine diagnostics. I am also responsible for managing and leading grant applications.
Do you have any advice for someone interested in a career in research?
Be organized from the start of the project. It’ll help manage the abundance of data sets and will save you time for when you write manuscripts. Use a large board to brainstorm ideas!
What are your interests outside of science?
I play hockey and I enjoy HIIT workouts. With a strong passion for water sports, I was a competitive dragon boater for over a decade and I’m currently coaching. Most of all, I am the biggest Detroit Red Wings fan outside of Detroit.

Restaurant Burgers
