What’s your background?
I was born in London, Ontario and attended the University of Western Ontario for my undergraduate degree. I initially studied archaeology, but transitioned into Molecular Anthropology during my graduate degree at the University of Toronto.
What research projects are you currently working on?
I first joined this group four years ago as a project coordinator, where I had the opportunity to work with some of our amazing patients and families with the Replication Repair Deficiency consortium. More recently, I transitioned into the role of project manager and am now involved developing and maintaining collaborations with both researchers and industry. It’s been amazing to watch this lab grow over the years.
Do you have any advice for someone interested in a career in research?
Focus on things that you are passionate about! I changed my career several times over the course of my life, and have no regrets. Work is so much easier to do when it is something you love.
What are your interests outside of science?
I absolutely adore musical theatre, video games and cooking
What’s your favorite food?
Anything spicy
Do you prefer coffee, tea, or none?
Both! Depending on my mood.
