Computed tomography scan, also known as CT scan<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0CAT scan<\/strong>, is an important tool for the\u00a0assessment of patients with traumatic brain injury. The CT\u00a0scan is a type of x-ray image procedure where a\u00a0continuous tube with a beam of x-rays rotates\u00a0while the patient moves through the scanner.\u00a0During this process a series of pictures are taken\u00a0that provide a comprehensive view of the brain\u00a0from different views. The CT scan is the most\u00a0commonly used imaging technique for diagnosis\u00a0and to guide treatment decisions.<\/p>\n
