A comprehensive data initiative to better understand the physical, mental, and developmental health of transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) youth through analyzing their care stories with the SickKids Gender Care Clinic (and beyond!)

This study will follow the journeys and health data of TGD youth treated within the SickKids Transgender Youth Clinic (TYC). Over the course of multiple years, we hope to collect data which will help health professionals better understand the needs, perspectives, and gaps in care for TGD youth, and how we can better serve this population moving forward.

This study is not actively recruiting outside of SickKids patients at this time.

As of June 2026, the PRIDE Project has reached its 1-year anniversary! So far, we have recruited over 400 patients and their care stories into the study, and have analyses planned for the upcoming year using this data.

More updates will follow as analyses are completed – we plan to house the results of these works on a new, independent PRIDE Project website for youth, caregivers, and the public.
