Sexual Health and Reproductive Empowerment (SHARE) Project
Exploring inequities in adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights in Ontario during the COVID-19 pandemic
This mixed-methods project combines linked population-based health administrative data with youth-led participatory action research (YPAR). This study involves two phases: 1) We are comparing patterns of adolescent (12-18 years) healthcare utilization for contraception or pregnancy care in Ontario pre/post the pandemic’s onset and explore associated socio-demographic factors and 2) We have trained adolescents in 3 priority regions as researchers to conduct YPAR studies examining adolescents’ sexual and reproductive health and rights priorities.
