Michelle Groff (she/her) is a recent graduate from McMaster University with a Master of Science specializing in Health Research Methodology. She currently manages lab operations and is coordinating a large-scale data initiative to better understand transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) youth and their physical, mental, and developmental health. Her graduate research focused on the methodological concerns around clinical and epidemiological studies in TGD populations and how to improve the design of these studies. Here research interests include 2SLGBTQ+ health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, queer theory, and epidemiological methods. Apart from her interest in population and public health, she is an avid nature lover who enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and birdwatching in her spare time.
After earning her Master’s degree in cancer research, Megan joined the LEAP Lab team, combining her passion for innovative clinical research with her commitment to LGBTQ2S+ advocacy. She is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and supporting others through local organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and Let’s Talk Science, as well as on a global scale through her work with the Clinical Research Justice League. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, practicing yoga, and spending time with her cats.
