As part of the FOUNDATIONS Project in collaboration with Save The Children, we are aiming to conduct a rapid scoping review of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) interventions carried out in Sub-Saharan Africa to respond to the SRH needs of adolescent (10-19 years) girls.
We hope this scoping review will allow us to identify novel, feasible, effective, and acceptable interventions for this population.
What is a Rapid Scoping Review?
A rapid scoping review is a scoping review – a type of evidence synthesis that aims to systematically map the breadth of evidence available on a topic – which is meant to be completed in a shorter time frame by omitting some of the traditional methods of a scoping review. This approach serves to expedite the collection and dissemination of knowledge so it can best be used.
For example, Save the Children will be able to more quickly act on novel SRH interventions for adolescent girls in Sub-Saharan Africa with this approach.
