Work Environment<\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]Toronto is one of the most culturally diverse and livable cities in the world, providing access to many excellent museums, authentic international cuisines, and great schools (See NY Times article, \u201cToronto\u2019s ethnic buffet<\/a>\u201d). Located in the\u00a0Discovery District\u00a0of downtown Toronto,\u00a0a\u00a0unique, resource rich environment\u00a0that includes seven hospital-based research\u00a0institutes and the University of Toronto, we are well positioned to pursue creative and highly collaborative research programs, particularly\u00a0in the fields of developmental and stem cell biology.<\/p>\n

Our laboratory is located on the 16th<\/sup> floor in Peter Gilgan Centre for Research Learning (PGCRL) at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), which is the largest high-rise research facility in Canada and has an amazing view of Toronto. The open layout laboratory facilitates synergistic collaborations with neighboring, world-leading developmental and stem cell biologists.<\/p>\n

Our experimental mice are housed in The Centre for Phenogenomics<\/a> (TCP). This 120,000 square foot, state-of-the-art research-enabling facility contains 32,000 cages (160,000 mice) and provides a variety of services, including mouse imaging, pronuclear microinjection, rederivation and Cas9 RNS guided nuclease reagent production.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″]
