The focus of Dr. Hutchison’s laboratory is acquired brain injury. His research program includes a laboratory based program investigating mechanisms of secondary injury and development of novel therapies in global ischemia and traumatic brain injury models. He is currently developing and validating prognostic/risk stratification models using patient and environmental factors and molecular and electrophysiologic biomarkers in traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Jamie Hutchison's Research
He currently has funding as principal investigator for: (1) the Canadian Traumatic brain injury Research Consortium (CTRC) funded by the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and; (2) A national biobank and database for patients with traumatic brain injury (CanTBI), funded by the Brain Canada Foundation and partners. He also receives funding from the National Institutes of Health.
