Many of these therapies have been <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">anecdotally in clinical practice but evidence on the efficacy is limited<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">. One of these promising treatments was<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\"> therapeutic parenteral anticoagulation with heparin<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\"> To undertake a formal assessment of the efficacy and safety of therapeutic parenteral anticoagulation with heparin, an international, Bayesian, multi-platform trial was undertaken including<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">\u00a0the<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">Antithrombotic Therapy to Ameliorate Complications of Covid-19 (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.attacc.org\/\">ATTACC<\/a><\/span>) trial and the Accelerating Covid-19 Therapeutic Interventions and Vaccines (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nih.gov\/research-training\/medical-research-initiatives\/activ\/covid-19-therapeutics-prioritized-testing-clinical-trials#activ4\">ACTIV-4<\/a>)<\/span> Trial. These trials<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\"> evaluated the efficacy of therapeutic-dose parenteral heparin versus usual care in hospitalized COVID-19 using a Bayesian response adaptive design<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">The primary analysis for ATTACC\/ACTIV-4 trials has been completed, alongside data from a third platform, indicating the therapeutic parenteral anticoagulation with heparin was effective at increasing the probability of survival and the number of organ-support free days. The purpose of this project is to <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-CA\" xml:lang=\"EN-CA\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199314864 BCX9\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Default\">undertake a range of secondary analyses using the data from ATTACC\/ACTIV4 trials to further explore the impact of therapeutic parenteral anticoagulation with heparin on hospitalized patients with COVID-19.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":253,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-96","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.0 (Yoast SEO v27.0) -
