Summer Programs<\/h4>\n

The SickKids Summer Research (SSuRe) Program<\/a> provides opportunities for university students to conduct research in a laboratory or clinical setting at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) under the supervision of a Research Institute scientist.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Institute of Medical Science’s (IMS) Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)<\/a>\u00a0provides an exceptional opportunity for undergraduate B.Sc. and medical students (who do not hold a graduate degree)\u00a0to become involved in projects relating to biomedical research. Projects range across a broad spectrum of disciplines, from molecular biology and cognitive science to clinical investigation and bioethics.<\/p>\n

The Canadian Rheumatology Association (CRA) Summer Studentship\u00a0Program<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0medical students helps students gain experience and interest in the sub-specialty of rheumatology. There is clinical-based program that selects students to shadow a\u00a0Rheumatologist (CRA member) in a clinical setting, and a research-based program that\u00a0connects a student with a CRA member for a\u00a0rheumatology-based research project.<\/p>\n

Comprehensive Research Experience for Medical Students (CREMS)<\/a>\u00a0is an umbrella program at the University of Toronto that allows interested medical students to gain extracurricular research experience in various structured sub-programs without interrupting their medical\u00a0 studies.\u00a0CREMS aims to provide participating students with an opportunity to explore their research interests,\u00a0gain valuable hands-on research experience,\u00a0prepare for a clinical career with a good research foundation and understanding of biomedical research, and consider a career as a clinician-scientist. In addition to research under the umbrella of the CREMS programs, students may participate in other research opportunities made available by individual university departments and institutes or by hospitals. These include pure research programs as well as combined research\/clinical experiences such as the Department of Paediatrics Pediatric Research and Clinical Summer (PeRCS)\u00a0Program<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Graduate Student Programs<\/h4>\n

Dr. Feldman is accepting MSc and PhD students through the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Clinical Epidemiology & Health Care Research (CEHCR),<\/a>\u00a0or through the Institute of Medical Science<\/a> at the University of Toronto with focus on any of the following: Clinical Epidemiology, Clinical Effectiveness, Outcomes and Evaluation, Health Services Research.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

The SPARRK program at SickKids is the Division of Rheumatology’s exciting volunteer program that offers a variety of positions to individuals from all disciplines.
