We provide academic and corporate clients access to several state-of-the-art analytical flow cytometers and high-speed cell sorting services. We also offer comprehensive training and education as well as expert consultation services to enable our users to utilize this technology to enhance the scope and quality of their research. <a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/fcf\/location\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">We are conveniently located in the heart of Toronto&#8217;s Discovery District<\/a>, in the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning (PGCRL) and in the Princess Margaret Cancer Research Tower (PMCRT). After consultation with FCF staff about experimental goals and set-up, clients can bring their stained samples to be acquired by an expert operator.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To request this service, submit an <b>Analyzer Assisted Acquisition <\/b>Request (listed under the Analyzer Requests category) in <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.ilab.agilent.com\/service_center\/show_external\/4715\/sickkidsuhn_flow_cytometry_facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iLab<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default panel-9d5d45b729dd7c6a0 fusion-toggle-has-divider\" style=\"--awb-title-color:#64a0c8;--awb-content-color:#6b6b6b;\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\" id=\"toggle_9d5d45b729dd7c6a0\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"9d5d45b729dd7c6a0\" role=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-7-1\" data-target=\"#9d5d45b729dd7c6a0\" href=\"#9d5d45b729dd7c6a0\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box active-icon awb-icon-minus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><i class=\"fa-fusion-box inactive-icon awb-icon-plus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"fusion-toggle-heading\">Analytical Flow Cytometry (unassisted)<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div><div id=\"9d5d45b729dd7c6a0\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"toggle_9d5d45b729dd7c6a0\"><div class=\"panel-body toggle-content fusion-clearfix\">\n<p>To operate our <a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/fcf\/flow-cytometry\/\">analytical instruments<\/a> independently, clients\u00a0must complete\u00a0our <a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/fcf\/instrument-training\/\">online training course<\/a>, hosted by FluoroFinder, in addition to completing our hands-on <a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/fcf\/instrument-training\/\">Analyzer Training Course<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Our Analyzer Training Course is intended for clients who plan to independently use our analyzers frequently (at least twice\/month).<\/p>\n<p>Clients who require less frequent or intensive use of our analyzers are recommended to avail of our <strong>Assisted Acquisition<\/strong> service.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To request access to the online training course, submit a <strong>FluoroFinder Academic Plus Membership<\/strong> Request (listed under the Training Services category) in <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.ilab.agilent.com\/service_center\/show_external\/4715\/sickkidsuhn_flow_cytometry_facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iLab<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>To request a place in our Analyzer Training Course after completion of the online training course, submit an <strong>Analyzer Training Course<\/strong> Request\u00a0(listed under the Training Services category) in <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.ilab.agilent.com\/service_center\/show_external\/4715\/sickkidsuhn_flow_cytometry_facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iLab<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default panel-2404f6bfaa82e16d1 fusion-toggle-has-divider\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\" id=\"toggle_2404f6bfaa82e16d1\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"2404f6bfaa82e16d1\" role=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-7-1\" data-target=\"#2404f6bfaa82e16d1\" href=\"#2404f6bfaa82e16d1\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box active-icon awb-icon-minus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><i class=\"fa-fusion-box inactive-icon awb-icon-plus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"fusion-toggle-heading\">Automated Magnetic Cell Separation<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div><div id=\"2404f6bfaa82e16d1\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"toggle_2404f6bfaa82e16d1\"><div class=\"panel-body toggle-content fusion-clearfix\">Magnetic cell separation technology (using a magnet to separate cells labelled with superparamagnetic particle conjugated antibodies) can be used to enrich heterogeneous cell samples for particular cell populations prior to sorting, or as an endpoint itself.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/fcf\/flow-cytometry\/\">Miltenyi Biotec AutoMACS Pro<\/a> is an automated column-based magnetic cell separation technology. We currently have one AutoMACS Pro<a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/fcf\/flow-cytometry\/\">,<\/a> located at our <a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/fcf\/location\/\">PMCRT<\/a> node, that is available for use by clients who have completed our <a href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/fcf\/instrument-training\/\">AutoMACS training course<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To request training, submit an <strong>AutoMACS Training<\/strong> Request (listed under the Training Services category) in <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.ilab.agilent.com\/service_center\/show_external\/4715\/sickkidsuhn_flow_cytometry_facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iLab<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-panel panel-default panel-9d0a4974d92f9f11d fusion-toggle-has-divider\"><div class=\"panel-heading\"><h4 class=\"panel-title toggle\" id=\"toggle_9d0a4974d92f9f11d\"><a aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"9d0a4974d92f9f11d\" role=\"button\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-7-1\" data-target=\"#9d0a4974d92f9f11d\" href=\"#9d0a4974d92f9f11d\"><span class=\"fusion-toggle-icon-wrapper\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><i class=\"fa-fusion-box active-icon awb-icon-minus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><i class=\"fa-fusion-box inactive-icon awb-icon-plus\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><span class=\"fusion-toggle-heading\">Consultation<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div><div id=\"9d0a4974d92f9f11d\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse \" aria-labelledby=\"toggle_9d0a4974d92f9f11d\"><div class=\"panel-body toggle-content fusion-clearfix\">We provide expert consultation services to enable our clients to utilize cytometry technology to enhance the scope and quality of their research.
