{"id":885,"date":"2020-12-01T15:54:06","date_gmt":"2020-12-01T15:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/enrich\/?page_id=885"},"modified":"2021-03-05T15:21:56","modified_gmt":"2021-03-05T15:21:56","slug":"postdoctoral-research-fellow","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/enrich\/postdoctoral-research-fellow\/","title":{"rendered":"Post-Doctoral Research Fellow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The <a style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/lab.research.sickkids.ca\/enrich\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #64a0c8\"><strong>Enhancing Research Impact in Child Health (EnRICH) <\/strong><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #64a0c8\">lab<\/span><\/strong><\/a> in Child Health and Evaluative Sciences at the Hospital for Sick Children is seeking a <strong>Post-Doctoral Research Fellow<\/strong>. The work of the EnRICH Research Group and Network aims to enhance child health through the discovery and implementation of innovative methods that transform the way we design, conduct, and report\u00a0child health\u00a0clinical research. The successful candidate possesses and applies highly advanced scientific knowledge of innovative research principles and concepts in the areas of knowledge synthesis and outcome measurement. They will be supervised by Dr. Martin Offringa, a paediatric clinical epidemiologist. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The <strong>Post-Doctoral Research Fellow<\/strong> will work on the development, validation, and implementation of a novel knowledge synthesis reporting guideline <span style=\"color: #64a0c8\">(<a style=\"color: #64a0c8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.equator-network.org\/library\/reporting-guidelines-under-development\/reporting-guidelines-under-development-for-systematic-reviews\/#PRISMACOSMIN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PRISMA-COSMIN<\/a>)<\/span> for outcome measurement instruments (OMIs) in health research. Health outcome measurements are only as good as the OMIs instruments used to make them. Yet, the use of OMIs with poor or unknown quality is widespread in clinical research. To ensure measurements are valid, reliable, patient-centered, and comparable across research studies and health systems, complete reporting of OMI appraisals conducted via systematic reviews is essential. However, there is no consensus on what constitutes complete and sufficient reporting of these types of systematic reviews. The central deliverable of this project will be an internationally developed, evidence-informed and consensus-based reporting guideline: PRISMA-COSMIN. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Here\u2019s What You\u2019ll Get To Do:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Lead a multidisciplinary and international team including chairing steering committee meetings, expert consultations, and the development and conduct of education sessions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Design and conduct methodological research, including scoping reviews <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Develop and apply novel patient engagement strategies for methodological research<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Oversee Delphi design, conduct, and data analyses<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Apply evidence validation of draft guidance in five medical fields (e.g., mental health, rheumatology, neurology, surgery, and child health)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Co-chair the Evidence Synthesis Meeting, write up of final deliverables<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Disseminate research and clinical findings through publications, presentations, and seminars<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Provide leadership and supervision within the EnRICH team on scientific matters<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Co-supervise research trainees<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist the PI in preparing reviews of others&#8217; grant application and manuscripts as appropriate<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist the PI in ensuring that fiscal safety and legislative responsibilities are maintained<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Here\u2019s What You\u2019ll Need:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">PhD. in Epidemiology or related field with relevant experience in systematic reviews, clinimetrics, and\/or reporting guideline development (Candidates who have obtained their PhD within the last two years are preferred)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Experience in patient engagement and\/or integrated knowledge translation is an asset<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Experience with clinical trial outcome selection and\/or evaluating outcome measurement instruments using standardized methods, such as COSMIN or OMERACT, is an asset<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Demonstrated strong competency in written and verbal communications<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Previous experience with grant and manuscript writing<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Employment Type:\u00a0<\/strong>Temporary, Full-Time (1 year contract, with possibility for renewal)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #64a0c8\"><a style=\"color: #64a0c8\" href=\"https:\/\/career.sickkids.ca:8001\/psc\/CRPRD\/CAREER\/HRMS\/c\/HRS_HRAM_FL.HRS_CG_SEARCH_FL.GBL?Page=HRS_APP_JBPST_FL&amp;Action=U&amp;FOCUS=Applicant&amp;SiteId=1&amp;JobOpeningId=13781&amp;PostingSeq=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apply here.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Enhancing Research Impact in Child Health (EnRICH) lab in  [&#8230;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":241,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-885","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.0 (Yoast SEO v27.0) -
