Her thesis dissertation focused on the role of a novel bone marrow stem cell population that she identified and the role of these cells in airway epithelial regeneration in animal models of airway injury. With this knowledge in stems cells and lung regeneration, Wong joined the Ellis lab (co-supervised by Dr. Janet Rossant) to establish the differentiation pathway for generating ciliated epithelium from human embryonic and patient CF-derived induced pluripotent stem cells. To aid in identifying ES/iPS-derived epithelial cell, she will develop a set of fluorescent reporter genes to identify and select cells of interest at different developmental stages.

When Wong isn’t working on lung regeneration, she can be found running the streets of Toronto and convincing the rest of the lab to join her.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Next Position

Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Rossant Lab at SickKids

Research Funded by

Canadian Institutes of Health Research[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″]

[/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

Selected publications

Wong AP, C Bear, S Chin, LJ Huan, P Pasceri, T Thompson, F Ratjen, J Ellis* and J Rossant*.
