Joel Rubin arrived from Montreal with a B.Sc. from McGill University. For his M.Sc., he wrenched the HS3beta-globin transgene expression project from James\u2019 hands (and took his bench too). He also contributed greatly to characterizing gene silencing induced by the eGFP reporter gene coding sequences.<\/p>\n

Rubin was known for rabidly supporting the Montreal Canadiens and saying \u201cNon?\u201d when he meant yes.<\/p>\n
