Dr. Benjamin T. Dunkley<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Scientist, Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology \/ Neurosciences & Mental Health, Hospital for Sick Children<\/b><\/p>\n

Associate Professor, Medical Imaging, University of Toronto<\/b><\/p>\n

Dr. Dunkley is a Scientist in Diagnostic Imaging and the Neurosciences & Mental Health Program at SickKids and an Associate Professor in Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto. He studied for his PhD at Cardiff University, UK, and he completed his post-doctoral training at York University and SickKids. His current research program focuses on the disruption to neural function and circuits in health and disease in children and adults.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Rouzbeh Zamyadi<\/b><\/p>\n

Research Analyst<\/b><\/p>\n

Rouzbeh received his BEng and MASc from Ryerson University in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently a Research Analyst at the Dunkley Lab working mainly on processing and analysis of a number of neuroimaging signals including Magnetoencephalography (MEG) data, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), and Electroencephalography (EEG).<\/p>\n<\/div>

Nikou Kelardashti<\/b><\/p>\n

MD Student – Affiliate \/ visiting<\/b><\/p>\n

Nikou is a medical student affiliated withe the lab whose current project explores the neural signatures of mTBI using Magnetoencephalography. She completed her MSc degree at the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto, where she analyzed psychophysical and imaging data to understand the brain-behaviour relationship between neural oscillation and the interaction between pain and attention.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Phil Johnston<\/b><\/p>\n

Postdoctoral Fellow<\/b><\/p>\n

Phil uses electrophysiology (M\/EEG), computational modelling and bioinformatics to understand how the brain changes after injury, including concussion and stroke, with the goal of developing more clinically-useful biomarkers. Beyond that, he has broad training in neural and cognitive sciences, and is interested in the many applications of electrophysiology and modelling in these fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Avyarthana Dey<\/b><\/p>\n

Postdoctoral Fellow – Affiliate \/ visiting<\/b><\/p>\n

Avy uses advanced functional neuroimaging to examine the long-term impacts of brain injury in athletes and military personnel. She brings her expertise in applying mathematical modelling to studying populations with neurological conditions like amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and psychiatric disorders such as unmedicated first-episode psychosis and schizophrenia. Her goal is to identify biomarkers that could ultimately enhance patient quality of life. <\/p>\n<\/div>

Mryam Ali<\/b><\/p>\n

PhD Student<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Mryam<\/span>‘s research delves into the neurobiology of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), where neural activity in brain networks linked to memory and emotional processing explain differentiable PTSD subtypes. Mryam<\/span> completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, double majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology, and is a member of the inaugural cohort of trainees in the Psychology direct entry Ph.D. program. Initially, her research focused on behavioural neuroscience and animal research models before transitioning into cognitive neuroscience. Her research journey has encompassed anxiety disorders, learning and memory and currently centers on the neurophysiology of psychiatric illnesses.<\/p>\n<\/div>
