Chinese Canadians are the largest visible minority population in Canada with an increased risk of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) but have markedly reduced access to LDKT compared to White Canadians. However, potentially modifiable ethnocultural barriers to LDKT are largely unknown in this population. This significant knowledge gap prevents the development of effective, culturally tailored strategies to increase LDKT for this population.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-section-separator section-separator triangle fusion-section-separator-1\" style=\"--awb-border-bottom:1px solid #64a0c8;--awb-spacer-height:1px;--awb-svg-margin-left:0;--awb-svg-margin-right:0;--awb-icon-color:#ffffff;\"><div class=\"fusion-section-separator-svg\"><div class=\"divider-candy-arrow bottom\" style=\"top:0px;border-top-color: #f6f6f6;\"><\/div><div class=\"divider-candy bottom\" style=\"bottom:-21px;border-bottom:1px solid #64a0c8;border-left:1px solid #64a0c8;\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-section-separator-spacer\"><div class=\"fusion-section-separator-spacer-height\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;width:100%;\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><b style=\"color: var(--body_typography-color);font-family: var(--body_typography-font-family);font-size: var(--body_typography-font-size);letter-spacing: var(--body_typography-letter-spacing)\"><br \/>\nAim:<\/b><span style=\"color: var(--body_typography-color);font-family: var(--body_typography-font-family);font-size: var(--body_typography-font-size);font-weight: var(--body_typography-font-weight);letter-spacing: var(--body_typography-letter-spacing)\"> We aim to conduct a multi-site qualitative study to investigate the barriers and facilitators to LDKT among five Chinese Canadian participant populations: Chinese Canadian patients with ESKD, their caregivers, the larger Chinese Canadian community, and Chinese Canadian LDKT recipients and donors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Methods:<\/b> We will conduct semi-structured focus groups and individual interviews with the five participant populations in order to understand their perceptions and experiences of LDKT. Focus groups and individual interviews will be offered in English, Mandarin and\/or Cantonese. The new knowledge generated from this study will establish recommendations to develop a sustainable, culturally tailored health promotion strategy to support Chinese Canadian patients with ESKD and support equitable access to LDKT.<\/p>\n<p><b>Results: <\/b>Pending<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><b>Webinar: <\/b>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Y5MgfTUb5Gg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> to access the video recording of the webinar in English. The event was titled \u201cStronger together: What everyone should know about kidney disease, treatment and transplantation, &amp; mental resilience\u201d. The webinar was hosted by Drs.
